The Town Council held a formal consultation (the 'Regulation 14' consultation) on their draft neighbourhood plan during summer 2021.

Whittlesey Town Council considered all responses received during their 'Regulation 14' consultation and amended their plan as they deemed necessary. They formally submitted their neighbourhood plan to Fenland District Council in June 2022 for independent examination.

Consultation and Appointment of Examiner

A consultation under 'Regulation 16' on the submitted version of the Neighbourhood Plan ran between July 8 and September 1, 2022. A number of representations were received which have been compiled into a single document.  All responses can be read here (PDF) [3MB]

An Examiner, Mr David Kaiserman BA DipTP MRTPI was appointed by Fenland District Council and Whittlesey Town Council in September 2022 to independently examine the Neighbourhood Plan.

In his initial assessment the Examiner has asked two clarifying questions of Fenland District Council and Whittlesey Town Council which, together with responses, can be found here:

The Examiner issued his Final Report (PDF) [947KB]  in November 2022. In summary he considered the Neighbourhood Plan met the basic conditions required by legislation subject to the incorporation of his recommended modifications.
