Share your views on using Whittlesea Railway Station to help unlock plans for future regeneration
Fenland District Council is inviting residents, businesses, and rail users to share their views on using Whittlesea Railway Station to help develop the business case for future regeneration plans.
Whittlesea is one of three Fenland stations included in a rail regeneration programme being delivered through the Council's Railway Station Masterplans project.
The programme is supported by funding from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, with £3million earmarked for improvements at Whittlesea between 2024 and 2027.
A survey has now been launched to gather people's views and experiences of using the station. Feedback will help develop the business case needed to access the funding and progress the next stage of the station's regeneration plans.

Whittlesea Railway Station
The Council wants to better understand how people use the station, what challenges they face, and what improvements would make the biggest difference. It also wants to understand the economic significance and local impact of Whittlesea Railway Station, particularly on local businesses.
The survey is the first stage of engagement on the project. There will be further public consultation in 2026 to seek views on station design proposals before any work begins.
"An important first step in the regeneration of Whittlesea station"
Cllr Gary Christy, Chair of the Railway Station Masterplan project board and Fenland District Council's Portfolio Holder for Transport, said: "We're committed to improving Fenland's railway stations to make them more modern, accessible and better connected for everyone who uses them. This survey is an important first step in the regeneration of Whittlesea station - it's a chance to tell us how you use the station, what works well and what could be improved. Your feedback will help shape the business case needed to unlock the funding for these improvements."
