Over 60s invited to free event

Over 60s are invited to enjoy free entry and refreshments at an event where they can browse information stands on services, support and opportunities tailored to them.

The event is the latest Fenland District Council Golden Age where a broad range of service providers have stands giving information on everything from exercise classes to finances. Visitors also go home with a goodie bag.

Cllr Sam Clark, Golden Age team leader, said: "We're delighted that these events remain so popular.

"They're a friendly and informal chance for people to come along, browse, have a chat and enjoy a coffee and piece of cake.

"We love seeing new people as well as regular visitors, who always tell us they've discovered something new that can save them money or enhance their lives."

Fenland District Council has been running Golden Age events for more than 20 years.

The next Golden Age event is on Friday, September 26, 10am to 1pm, at Wisbech St Mary Sports & Community Centre, Beechings Close, Wisbech St Mary, PE13 4SS. Entry and refreshments free. Further details at: Golden Age

Stallholders provide information on topics including independent living; emotions and wellbeing; finances; law; carers; health; home security; transport; social and volunteering opportunities.
