Funding for website upgrade to encourage more people to visit Cambridgeshire by rail
The Hereward Community Rail Partnership (CRP) website has been developed into a 'one stop' hub for travel and tourism in North Cambridgeshire thanks to a grant from Greater Anglia's Customer and Community Improvement Fund.

The Hereward CRP - which champions the Hereward railway line and its stations at Peterborough, Whittlesea, March, Manea, and Ely - received over £4,000 of funding from Greater Anglia's Customer and Community Improvement Fund to enable the upgrade.
As a result, the website now features an improved home page with incredible drone footage of trains passing through the Cambridgeshire countryside, improvements to site navigation, the introduction of travel guides and suggested itineraries, interactive maps, and walking and cycling maps.

Wendy Otter, Transport Development Manager, Fenland District Council, said: "This funding enabled us to overhaul the whole website, making it more user friendly and providing inspiring information to help people enjoy a day out by rail.
"Promoting the tourism opportunities to and from our line is essential and our new website is now a fantastic showcase to encourage people to come and visit whilst travelling sustainably and conveniently."
Greater Anglia's Partnerships Manager, Scott Dolling, said: "We were pleased to support this website upgrade which I'm sure will inspire more people to visit the area and enjoy a day out by rail.
"We are always looking to enhance the role of the railway in support of the community it serves, and our new Customer and Community Improvement Fund is a way of supporting further locally focused enhancements in line with community needs."
Greater Anglia's Customer and Community Improvement Fund is designed to support local, community-focused rail improvements across its network.
This scheme is aimed at supporting initiatives which deliver community benefits and enhance rail's positive role in society. Ideas proposed can be put forward by local organisations or bodies, such as community rail partnerships, station adopters, local authorities or parish councils, community groups, charities, or other stakeholders along the routes served by the train operator.
