Free, welcoming event for older people
Older people can discover information on opportunities, services and support available to them at an upcoming free, informal Golden Age event.
Visitors can stroll stands staffed by a variety of different organisations at the drop-in event as well as enjoy free refreshments and take home a free goodie bag.
Anyone aged over 60, or with an interest in services and support available to over 60s, is welcome to attend on:
- Monday, February 10, 10am to 1pm, at Friday Bridge's Tower Hall, Maltmas Drove, Friday Bridge PE14 0HW. Free parking is available.
Golden Age events are coordinated and enabled by Fenland District Council, with support from partners.
"Come along and find out what's new"
Cllr Sam Clark, Golden Age team leader, said: "Our Golden Age events have been running for 21 years now and we're always delighted to see regular visitors and new faces.
"The opportunities, services and support available is ever evolving so we encourage people to come along and find out what's new.
"The events themselves are a lovely chance to get out, have a friendly chat, enjoy a free drink and piece of cake and, on top of that, you can pick up all sorts of helpful information.
"All visitors need to do is turn up at any point between 10am and 1pm, come in and take a no-pressure look around the stalls."
Attending organisations are expected to include those that provide services to do with:
- independent living
- emotions and wellbeing
- finances
- law
- carers
- health
- home security
- transport
- learning
- social and volunteering opportunities.
