Discover services and support available to the over 60s at free events
Free events for people over 60 and those interested in services and support for over 60s will be held in Tydd St Giles and Eastrea.
The latest Golden Age events are expected to each see representatives from 25-plus service providers staffing stalls offering information about what they offer to over 60s.
That may include information on independent living, emotional, financial, legal and carers' support, health, home security, transport, learning, social and volunteering opportunities as well as specialist support for communities such as eastern European and armed forces.
Visitors are welcome to drop in at any point during the free events and enjoy a no-cost hot drink and piece of cake. They'll also go home with a free canvas bag including goodies such as a reusable cup.
The events are on:
- Friday, September 13, 10am to 1pm, at Tydd St Giles Community Centre, Broad Drove East PE13 5LN
- Friday, September 20, 10am to 1pm, at The Eastrea Centre, 2 Roman Gardens, Eastrea, Whittlesey PE7 2DF.
Mac's Golden Age events are coordinated and enabled by Fenland District Council, with support from partners, and were launched in 2003 by the late Cllr Mac Cotterell MBE.
Whittlesey Town Council and Tydd St Giles Parish Council have provided support with the cost of the September venues.
Cllr Sam Clark, Golden Age team leader, said: "We're always delighted to enable these events with the support of so many partners to bring vital help and information to over 60s in our communities."
Mac's Golden Age fairs are held throughout the year at different locations across the district.
Details of future events will be published at our: Golden Age page.
