Norfolk Street / West Street Proposed Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO)
In January 2023 we asked residents if a passageway that links Norfolk Street and West Street in Wisbech should be closed to help reduce anti-social behaviour.
A proposed Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) was outlined, that would block, by erection of gates, a passageway linking Norfolk Street and West Street in Wisbech. The PSPO was proposed following suggestions by local residents that restricting access to this area would reduce persistent antisocial behaviour occurring in the passage and lessen the negative impact it has on the immediate area.
A public consultation on the proposed PSPO ran for 3 weeks, receiving 44 responses, 84% of which supported the closure of the passage.
The PSPO was presented at a Cabinet meeting on Monday 20th February 2023 for members to consider, where it's introduction was agreed. Further information on the decision can be found on the Agenda page for this meeting.
