Fenland refuse teams shift waste equivalent to more than 6,000 elephants a year
Fenland's refuse service collected waste equivalent to more than 6,000 elephants in weight in the first 11 months of the last financial year.
The team collected 37,000 tonnes of domestic and commercial waste to the end of February, a report before Fenland's full council on Monday (May 20) says.
Garden waste and recycling accounted for more than 40 per cent of that - but we want to see even more going into blue bins.
