Bin collection changes in Fenland - make sure your bins are out on time!
Fenland residents are being reminded to ensure their bins are presented for collection by 7am to avoid being caught out by some slight collection schedule changes.
From the end of August, some residents, who are used to their blue bins being collected later in the day, will see them being collected earlier.
Otherwise, things will remain as normal.
Cllr Pete Murphy, Fenland District Council portfolio holder for refuse and cleansing, said: "Our residents are great at having their bins out nice and early on collection days and we just need everyone to keep that up for all their bins.
"On collection days, some residents may notice their blue bins are collected earlier than they have been in the past. This is an operational change to keep the service running as efficiently as possible."
This change is due to a necessary switch to blue bin waste being tipped in a different location in Fenland prior to onward transport for sorting and then recycling.
Refuse teams will continue to work 6.30am to 3.30pm to get bins collected. On collection days, bins should be presented as early as possible and before 7 am.
The bank holiday, on Monday, August 26, will mean the usual change of bin collection days, with usual collection days moving to one day later for a week.
Find your bin collection day on our bin collection days page or use the Fenland Bins app.
